There is no doubt that the temples are getting more interesting the further north we travel. Today we visited the national heritage site at Sukhotai, and discovered the ruins of the first capital of Thailand dating back to 1250 – 1350 AD.
The decaying structures are very rugged and tactile, and fortunately I could get great access up close to find a lot of interesting viewpoints.
The texture and tone of the eroded stone and brick was a perfect scenario for inspirational content, and with such strong light in the morning I could take advantage of the dramatic compositions.
To round it all off, I also managed to get some excellent video footage and stills of the sections I liked the most. I have no doubt that these drawings with play some part in next years studio work, so we will put these together in a art video tutorial and I’ll explain and show you how I will develop these ideas further.
