A ridiculously early start this morning, a 3.30 am departure from Chenderit school for the visit to Venice. Although, I must admit that everything seems more worthwhile when you see the splendid view of the Alps as we fly over Switzerland. Even the view over the sand banks look pretty amazing as we descend into Marco Polo airport.
The first drawing sessions have gone okay with all the students embarking on some ambitious layouts. We began with a tall, narrow composition, trying to document a “slice” of the architectural facades, followed by a continuous line study which gave a fluid, energetic quality.
It’s a cold, end to the day now that the sun has gone down. One more drawing to round off proceedings and then a well earned rest.
