Back to the normal sunshine on the last day as we embarked on the vaparetto ride to San Marco.
We used the ornate and decorative as the starting point for the session, looking in particular at the Doge’s Palace and the Basillica. No problems, apart from the jobs worth police who stopped the students from sitting in the square to do their drawings.

We moved on to the Bovolo tower, skirting past Harry’s Bar, a scene of a birthday drink on a previous trip. The Bellini was good but it does not beat a pint of black sheep!

A last bit of tourist shopping and a final sketch in front of the Santa Maria sella Salute rounded the trip off perfectly. I’ve really enjoyed the visit, there are many excellent drawings for the students to develop back at school and everyone has had a fantastic experience in Venice.

A special thanks to all the teachers and students from Chenderit school, they have been brilliant company and made the trip so worthwhile.

I’m signing off now as we descend into Gatwick. I can’t say that I’m looking forward to the drive back up north, eta 2.30 am. I hope Costa coffee is open!
