Part of a series of 4 etchings.
Again, to celebrate his journey to the South Eastern province of China, Ian Murphy has produced a series of etchings illustrating the fragile, historic water town in Wuzhen.
The low viewing angle of this image emphasises the abundance of water and its prominence in the landscape. The idea centres on the atmospheric weather conditions, especially the tranquil mist that hangs just above the surface of the water, creating a thin veil over the entire view. The perspective movement in the building creates a sense of space, pushing your eye towards the fragile bridge in the distance.
